Description
Black Film Faced Plywood Overview
Black Film Faced Plywood is an engineered construction board designed to perform under demanding conditions.
It features a waterproof phenolic coating on both sides that protects the wood core from moisture, abrasion, and chemical exposure.
The panel offers excellent strength, stability, and reusability, making it ideal for formwork systems, flooring, and transport platforms.
1. Material Composition
The core is made from high-quality poplar, eucalyptus, birch, or mixed hardwood veneers.
Each layer is bonded under heat and pressure using WBP phenolic or melamine adhesives to form a dense and stable structure.
This process enhances load-bearing capacity and prevents warping even in variable outdoor conditions.
2. Surface Coating
Both sides of the plywood are covered with a durable black phenolic film available in smooth or anti-slip textures.
The film acts as a barrier against water and concrete adhesion, ensuring clean, smooth casting surfaces and easy release after use.
Anti-slip patterns are ideal for flooring and transport applications where safety and grip are critical.
3. Technical Properties
- Standard Size: 1220×2440mm / 1250×2500mm (custom dimensions available)
- Thickness Range: 9–30mm
- Density: 600–700 kg/m³
- Moisture Content: ≤12%
- Reuse Rate: 8–15 cycles depending on handling
4. Bonding & Glue Options
The panels are produced using advanced adhesive systems to ensure long-lasting water resistance.
WBP phenolic glue is recommended for outdoor or marine exposure, while WBP melamine glue
provides a balance of durability and affordability for general construction.
Each bonding layer is tested to ensure strong adhesion and minimal delamination.
5. Quality Control & Performance
Every sheet undergoes precision calibration to achieve uniform thickness and flatness.
The plywood is tested for bonding strength, moisture resistance, and surface smoothness.
This ensures that every panel performs consistently on-site, even after multiple uses in formwork or heavy-duty flooring.
6. Key Advantages
- High load-bearing strength with excellent dimensional stability
- Waterproof, weather-resistant, and suitable for outdoor applications
- Easy to cut, drill, and install without surface cracking
- Reusable and cost-effective for formwork projects
- Compliant with CARB, CE, FSC, ISO9001, and EPA standards
7. Typical Applications
Widely used in concrete formwork, bridge and tunnel projects, scaffolding platforms, truck flooring,
and outdoor stages. Its smooth film surface ensures precise casting results, while its strong core
withstands high pressure from concrete pouring and repeated use.
8. Optional Customizations
Custom options are available for color, thickness, edge sealing, and logo printing.
Panels can also be cut to project-specific dimensions for faster installation and reduced material waste.
9. Sustainability
Produced from renewable plantation timber and low-emission adhesives, this plywood supports eco-friendly construction practices.
Its long service life and recyclability minimize environmental impact while offering excellent long-term value for contractors.
